Marie-Luise Alcántara studied music education for secondary schools at the University of Music Würzburg. There she also received a diploma as concert pianist with teachers Prof. Wolfgang Döberlein and Prof. András Hamary. Additionaly she completed a Diploma in Music Theory with Prof. Dr. Christoph Wünsch.
As a soloist she performed Franz Liszt’s “Totentanz” with the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra Wernigerode, among others. In 2017 she recorded the Goldberg Variations by J. S. Bach on CD. She leads her own piano class at the Bayreuth University of Protestant Church Music and also teaches as a music and instrumental teacher at the Markgräfin-Wilhelmine-Gymnasium Bayreuth. Her concert activities include projects as soloist, chamber musician and song accompanist.
