Marie-Luise Alcántara studied Music Education and Piano Performance (Diploma Concert Degree) at the University of Music Würzburg, where she was taught by Prof. Wolfgang Döberlein and Prof. András Hamary. She also completed a diploma program in Music Theory under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Christoph Wünsch and Hermann Beyer.
She teaches piano and music theory at the Protestant University of Church Music Bayreuth and also works as a music and instrumental teacher at the Markgräfin-Wilhelmine-Gymnasium in Bayreuth. Her artistic activities include projects as a soloist, chamber musician, and song accompanist.
In 2025, Marie-Luise Alcántara completed her doctoral degree at the University of Music Würzburg with a dissertation entitled “Composition, Form, and Transcendence – Exemplary Studies on the Œuvre of Nordic Composers Einojuhani Rautavaara and Arvo Pärt.”
